Quality Control Lab Technician

Reports To: Shift Supervisor

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

American Biltrite (ABI Tape) is seeking a Quality Control Lab Technician to support our manufacturing operations by performing required laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products. This role plays a critical part in monitoring production quality, identifying out-of-control conditions, and partnering with production teams to ensure products meet established specifications and quality standards.

Location: Moorestown, NJ (On-site)
Pay Range: $25.85 – $26.15 per hour
Department: Quality
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hourly
Shift: 2nd  shift (3pm-11pm) or 3rd shift (11pm-7am) as assigned

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up laboratory test equipment and conduct testing on raw materials, adhesives, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Adjust adhesive batches based on proper ratios of tackifier to rubber.
  • Audit production to ensure proper use of chemicals, films, and papers.
  • Identify and communicate out-of-specification conditions and work with machine operators to correct issues through processing adjustments.
  • Record all test and audit results and enter data accurately into the computer system.
  • Test rejected materials and document results.
  • Perform testing for R&D trial runs and maintain trial documentation and files.
  • Check, record, and adjust test and environmental equipment as required.
  • Conduct audits of product being converted on all slitters at least once per shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or quality laboratory environment preferred.
  • Ability to follow detailed testing procedures and document results accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with production, quality, and supervisory staff.
  • Comfortable working with testing equipment, chemicals, and computer systems.
