In our previous “Meet the Family” blog series installment, we explored TransferRite® application tapes and how they benefit the Sign market. This time, we’ll be taking a closer look at the 1300 Series!
The 1300 Series is a line of clear film application tapes used to transfer vinyl graphics and is made up of four main products: 1301, 1310, 1310 Grid, and 1320. Each of these products provides crystal-clear transparency for easy alignment, while also providing superior adhesion, thanks to our ULTRA® technology.
While these products are all part of the same family, they each excel in a variety of applications. Let’s dive into what makes each one unique!
The Market Leader: 1310
TransferRite 1310, the market-leader, is a medium-tack application tape that is used primarily for installing high performance, calendared vinyl. This low-static film adheres and removes easily on challenging surfaces like corrugated plastic and banner material, and its clean appearance and durability during transport make it ideal for masking RTA decals.
Also available is 1310 Grid, which features a pre-printed 1-inch grid pattern, making it ideal for crafting and signage projects. Grid was designed for the precise alignment of graphics, making small lettering and other fine details easy to install.
Niche Films: 1320 and 1301
Along with the market-leading 1310, the 1300 Series also contains more niche film products like 1320 and 1301.
Our high-tack 1320 works great with specialty vinyl for textured or raised surfaces, such as the etched glass you may see in offices, as well as reflective and holographic films. 1320 also works well when applying smaller graphics with fine detail, such as personalizing a glass with someone’s name or a small logo.
On the other end of the spectrum, 1301 is a low-tack film that specializes in applying large vinyl graphics. This tape is perfect for delicate automotive applications, where its clarity aids in accurate alignment and its tack level allows for smooth removal after installation.
